Flexible Work Environment
The spatial layout transforms the floor into a flexible work environment without altering the existing structure. Communication and interaction with employees, visitors, and customers take center stage: The space adapts to the ever-changing demands of daily work.
Located in a 19th-century industrial landmark that was once used for the production of gunpowder, the office space is on the first floor of the five-story building.
By moving into the existing building—which had stood unused for decades and was saved from decay—an industrial structure was revitalized while conserving resources. The interior walls were preserved in their original form; on the exterior, a thermal envelope was added, and the floor was equipped with underfloor heating.
Interactive Zones
Curtains of varying heights and with different acoustic properties divide the existing space into distinct zones. The range of colors and materials, which contrasts with the existing elements, preserves the “old” while deliberately creating a break with the “new.”
